Dwell with Dignity’s Sharp Earns Elite DEI Certification

Dwell with Dignity Executive Director Ashley Sharp has earned certification at the highest level for professionals and executives in the practice of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Sharp became a Certified Diversity Executive (CDE) this January, as recognized by the Institute For Diversity Certification.

A veteran leader in Dallas area nonprofits, Ashley Sharp is entering her fifth year as Executive Director of Dwell with Dignity, a nonprofit focused on changing lives of families who have experienced trauma. In her work at Dwell with Dignity, Ashley leads diverse groups of employees, volunteers, and board members.

“As a  woman of color, functioning and leading within a diverse business community, I know the importance of championing the principles of DEI,” Sharp stated. “We must continue to make our metro area more vibrant and successful for the next generation, and that means creating a more inclusive corporate environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and pride.”

Dwell with Dignity is putting Sharp’s expertise into practice in multiple ways, such as the continued diversification of our employee roster and board of directors, as well as initiatives to create opportunity in the design community. The organization is especially proud of the Diversity in Design program, which helps more underrepresented designers get better exposure in Dallas and grow in their careers.
